FBC Homeland connects with community during revival
Florida Baptist Witness,
I just wanted to let you know about an event we had Sunday that blessed our church. Sunday started a scheduled spring revival meeting for our church. We invited a music minister from another church in our association to come lead us in worship, but we also invited the girls softball team from an area high school to come to the church with their families on Sunday to be recognized for their accomplishments this year. The Fort Meade Lady Miner Softball Team won district runners up in the state for only the second time in school history. We had our church council pray for each girl and their family that they would come and that their hearts would be open to the Word of God. We made each of the 16 girls on the team a certificate that was signed by the pastor and their coach. We gave each of them a flower and then prepared a spaghetti dinner after the morning service in their honor. This simple event allowed us to have over 30 non-church attending visitors in our kick off revival service. Praise the Lord! The spaghetti dinner served as a way to have more time with our guests to get to know them better. For more information you can contact our Pastor Mike Sellers @ 863-224-2631 or check out pictures of the event on Facebook under First Baptist Church of Homeland.
