Through the distribution of food to the poor, learning to evangelize, and fellowshipping with peers, students from across the state will come together at the 2009 Youth Evangelism Conference Aug. 7-8 for a weekend of encouragement and training at First Baptist Church in Orlando.

This Cooperative Program-supported conference, open to students who have completed grades 6-12, will feature guest musicians, speakers, evangelism training, drama and testimonies geared to reach and inspire that age group. Break-out sessions will be offered for youth, youth leaders, and student ministers.

Tony Nolan, an evangelist from Woodstock, Ga., will be the keynote speaker. Praise and worship will be led by Building 429, recipients of the Gospel Music Association 2005 New Artist of the Year award.

Jeff Hessinger, director of the Personal Evangelism Department which is hosting the event, encouraged churches “to make this power-packed weekend a strategic conclusion for your youth this summer.”

“This event will prepare and challenge the kids from your church to have a Kingdom vision for their campus and to boldly share their faith.”

An added outreach event for conference participants food distribution to more than 1,000 families in low income government housing in the Orlando’s Hankins Park neighborhood. Youth are asked to bring a love offering on Fri., Aug. 7, which will go to purchase food for the youth to distribute Saturday.

Cost for the event is $30 per person and includes a t-shirt and training materials. Preregistration ends July 20. Beginning July 21 registration will be accepted at the door the day of the event and the cost increases to $35 per person. The conference begins 7 p.m. Fri., Aug. 7, and concludes 12 p.m. Sat., Aug. 8.
