First Baptist Church in Orange Park will host a “Protecting Our Children” seminar March 6, 6-8 p.m. Speaker for the free event is Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter Ken Wooden who will list the 10 most common lures that predators use to seduce a child. James H. Scroggins, pastor of First Baptist Church in West Palm Beach, has been named to the Palm Beach Atlantic University Board of Trustees. He is a graduate of Jacksonville University, and earned M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. Before accepting the pastorate of First Baptist Church in 2008, he served as dean of Boyce College and teaching pastor of Highview Baptist Church, also in Louisville. Scroggins and his wife, Kristin, have eight children. First Baptist Church in Tequesta will host a night of worship and Christian comedy Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. The free concert will feature musician/comedy writer Scott Davis and vocalist Donny Henderson.
