Parkview Baptist Church in Lake City will celebrate homecoming Aug. 19. Former minister of music Dick Burrell will sing in concert and former pastor Joe Butler will preach in the 10:30 a.m. service. 10 YEARS Lake Asbury Baptist Church honored Pastor Troy A. Grant July 23, his tenth anniversary with the church. Guests at the celebration included Truman Herring, Grant’s mentor and senior pastor of Boca Glades Baptist Church in Boca Raton; Jason Weathersby, former worship pastor of Lake Asbury Baptist; Paul Castelli, pastor of Crosspoint Church in Spring Hill; Phil and Nancy Grant, Grant’s parents; and Dan and Joyce Prenatt, his wife, Yvette’s parents. Woodland The Community Church in Bradenton has called Nathan Gaddis as associate pastor of worship arts. He is a Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter as a member of the vocal group TrueVibe whose second album, “See the Light” was nominated for a Grammy in 2003. Gaddis, his wife, Bethany, and three children moved to Bradenton from Little Rock, Ark.

BREAKING GROUND Southwest Baptist Church in Gainesville broke ground June 27 for a new sanctuary at 8012 S.W. 75th Street.
