GRACEVILLE (BCF)—“Celebration of Praise” Aug. 26 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Chipley combined 130 people from six area church choirs and a number of student, faculty and staff members from Baptist College of Florida in Graceville in an evening of worship led by six music directors.

Each of the music directors led in arrangements such as, “The Lord Reigns,” “The Majesty and Glory of Your Name,” “I’ve Been Changed,” “Jesus Saves,” and “Defender.” The music directors performed a special sextet rendition of “A Few Good Men,” and Rachel Bruner presented “Ode to Joy” on the piano. The evening included a special time of congregational singing.

Participants were led by Baptist College of Florida (BCF) student Gary Medlock of Northside Baptist Church in Ponce De Leon; BCF student Lucas Lott of Damascus Baptist Church in Graceville; BCF graduate Matt Gluck of Blue Lake Baptist Church in Chipley; Dan Colletti of First Baptist Church in Chipley; BCF Music and Worship Division Chair Bill Davis of First Baptist Church in Geneva, Ala.; and BCF graduate Daniel McNeill of Shiloh Baptist Church in Chipley.

The idea grew when friend, Medlock and McNeill discussed the idea of combining their  two church choirs.

“I wanted to see churches come together as one body of Christ,” Medlock said.

Mike Orr, senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Chipley, led the benediction.
