BREVARD

Brevard Baptist Association, with offices in Rockledge, will honor Director of Missions Gary Gates, and his wife and administrative assistant, Ann Gates, on their retirement Dec. 2, 2-4 p.m. at the association’s office. They have served 6 ½ years. For more information, call 321-631-0820.

HOLMES

The F.A.I.T.H. Riders of First Baptist Church in Bonifay and Unity Baptist Church in Vernon will ride in a Benefit Toy Run Dec. 1. They will collect toys for the Guadian Ad Litem program. Staging will begin at Wal-Mart in Chipley at 2:30 p.m., with kick stands up at 3 p.m. Unity Baptist will host a dinner after the ride. For more information, call 850-624-6236.

PAXTON

JACKSONVILLE

First Baptist Church in Orange Park has called Dave Paxton as associate pastor of students and discipleship. He and his wife Sharon moved to Orange Park from Hendersonville, Tenn., where he served First Baptist Church. He also served Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola 1991-2005. He is a graduate of Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn., and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

MANATEE SOUTHERN

Samoset Baptist Church and Southside Baptist Church, both in Bradenton, will present the seventh annual “Walk Through Bethlehem” Dec. 1 and 2, 5-8:30 p.m. The presentation will be at Samoset Baptist. For more information, call 941-746-8117.

TAMPA BAY

Southside Baptist Church in Brandon will honor Pastor Peter Vande Weghe Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. during Founder’s Day. Pastor Vande Weghe plans to retire Dec. 30. The congregation will gather for a pot luck lunch following the service. For more information, call 813-689-6049.
