GRACEVILLE (BCF)—In an unprecedented show of support in 2011, the Florida Baptist Convention set aside the last Sunday of January as the annual Day of Prayer for The Baptist College of Florida in Graceville.
This year, Florida Baptists across the state will join faculty, students and staff at BCF Jan. 27 in praying for the college.
“As an institution, The Baptist College of Florida needs prayer, and we who are involved in its daily life and work need prayer,” said BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen. “Throughout the history of The Baptist College of Florida, prayer has been the essential channel of petition, praise, and God’s power.”
Kinchen said since he arrived at the school in 1990, he has seen “countless times in which the explanation for movements, individual events, revivals and renewals, both personally and corporately has been the prayers of God’s people at this place and around the world.”
Further, Kinchen said he believes prayers makes a difference in the lives of those who are praying, and in the lives of those who are fortunate enough to be the objects of the prayers of God’s people.
“I am humbled and thankful to know that Florida Baptists will be praying for The Baptist College of Florida specifically on Jan. 27.
Baptists are a praying people,” Kinchen said.
