LAMPP
JACKSONVILLE (FBW)—Two associations in the Panhandle have called new directors of missions.

Holmes Baptist Association called Barrett Lampp as DOM Feb. 12. Lampp retired in July 2012 as associate pastor for assimilation and pastoral care at Thomasville Road Baptist Church in Tallahassee. Although he will turn 80 in November, he told Florida Baptist Witness he is “feeling like 50 again.”

Lamp and his wife Connie, will reside in the association’s parsonage Sundays-Wednesdays, and return to their home in Tallahassee Thursdays-Saturdays. He is already planning to maintain his record-setting participation in SBC Crossovers by attending Crossover in Houston, Texas, in June.

“I am chomping at the bit to do something,” he said.

WALTON COUNTY BAPTIST ASSOCIATION

ELLIS
David Ellis was elected as director of missions of Walton County Baptist Association Feb. 5.  He served as pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in DeFuniak Springs two and half years, and previously served First Baptist Church in Seville and Reynolds Road Baptist Church in Lakeland.

He is a graduate of Baptist College of Florida in Graceville, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Christian Studies at The Baptist College of Florida.  He and his wife Jamie have three children: Kayla, 19, a BCF student; Ashley, 13, an eighth grader; and Andrew, 10, a fourth grader.

“It has been a desire of mine for a long time to be involved with the pastors and with the mission of this association,” he told Florida Baptist Witness.
