During one recent delivery, however, Chuck noticed a man who was pacing and fighting to control a shaking lip. He rubbed his face and then his head when Chuck asked if he was alright.
The man responded by telling Chuck he was having a hard time. His wife, who suffers from medical issues, was upset with him for being at the mission where Chuck was distributing fruit. Chuck sensed his frustration.
Asking if they could pray together, Chuck placed his hand on the man’s shoulder. The man embraced Chuck and they prayed.
During the prayer, Chuck remembered the devotion he and his family had studied at breakfast that morning. “We read about the storm, the disciples, the waves, the fear, and how Jesus slept through it all,” Chuck said, “and then how He calmed it all.”
The experience with the man put Chuck’s own problems in perspective, he said. It also reminded him to pray for people in area missions each week.
