BLACK CREEK

Old Plank Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville will host its annual Holiday Hearts Gift and Craft Fair Dec. 7, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The event will include sixty vendors, many from the church’s Westside neighborhood, concessions, door prizes and Christmas music. LAKE COUNTY

First Baptist Church in Mount Dora has added or promoted three staff members: Robert L. Bowden is youth and college pastor. He most recently served as student pastor of First Baptist Church in Livingstone, Ala. He also served with two Baptist churches in Louisiana. He is a graduate of Auburn University in Alabama, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Tom Cavanaugh is associate pastor of pastoral care. He served 48 years in churches in Michigan and Massachusetts. Cavanaugh is a graduate of Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Tracy Ahearn was promoted to the full-time position of preschool/children’s director in April. She previously served as part-time preschool director and as a childcare worker in the Preschool Department.

OKALOOSA

McCLARD
Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church in Baker has called Geoffrey Prows as pastor. He most recently was pastor of West Haven Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tenn., and also served as a North American Mission Board church planter in Ohio. He is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C. and Andersonville (Ga.)Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Jennifer, have two children. He will begin his pastorate in Baker Dec. 8. South Ebenezer Baptist Church in Laurel Hill has called Mark McClard as pastor. He has served as pastor of Valley Road Baptist Church, Woodlawn Baptist Church and Emmanuel Baptist Church, all in Crestview. He is a graduate of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Ariz., and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He and his wife, Evelyn, have two sons and seven grandchildren.

SANTA FE RIVER

Westside Baptist Church in Gainesville will present the annual Gainesville Christmas Festival in nine performances Dec. 6-8 and 13-15.
