JACKSONVILLE (FBW)—Hundreds of children from Arlington Heights Elementary School in Jacksonville were given the opportunity to “shop” for gifts for their parents and caregivers at a two hour-hour “Free Shopping Spree” Dec. 12.

Eddie Lockamy, pastor of Arlington Baptist Church in Jacksonville, told Florida Baptist Witness his congregation routinely sponsors events benefitting the economically challenged neighborhood surrounding the school just around the corner from the church.

Presents from the shopping spree, donated by members of the congregation, will be wrapped and sent home with many of the 400 plus children who will give the presents to parents and other caregivers on Christmas morning, he said.
