Rocky Bayou Baptist Church in Niceville has called Andrew Sheffield as worship pastor. He, his wife, Kimberly, and their two preschoolers moved to Niceville from Louisville, Ky., where he was interim minister of music at Clifton Baptist Church. Sheffield received the Bachelor of Music degree from University of Cincinnati, and the Master of Music in piano from University of Missouri in Kansas City. Sheffield, an Eastman, Georgia native, also served Christ Community Church in Louisville, and Faith Community Church in Kansas City. First Baptist Church will host its 28th annual Pastors’ Conference Jan. 23-26. More than 20 preachers, including pastors, evangelists, a sports celebrity and educators, will speak on “Feed My Sheep: The Call to Preach the Bible.” For more info go to


Village of Grace Baptist Church in The Villages will host The Florida Boys in concert Feb. 2 at 5 p.m. For more info, go to First Baptist Church in Altoona will host its 3rd annual Campmeeting Jan. 26-29. The event, begun by Evangelist J.O. McCloud, will feature at least 20 preachers and gospel singers The Bland Family from Georgia. Services will be held Sunday at 10:55 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Monday–Wednesday, 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Three preachers will speak in the morning services, and two in the evening services. Westside Baptist Church in Gainesville will mark its 50th anniversary Jan. 24-26. The celebration will begin Friday with a dinner for former staff members and church members. Saturday activities include a Homecoming Fellowship from 1-5 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall and a concert at 5 p.m. by The Whisnants. On Sunday, John Sullivan, executive director-treasurer of the Florida Baptist Convention, will preach in the 9:30 a.m. worship service followed by dinner on the grounds.
