FBC Eustis mourns death of Executive Pastor

Dr. Hoyt Skip Haymans III
Longtime First Baptist Church of Eustis Executive Pastor Dr. Hoyt “Skip” Haymans III died on May 22 at the age of 61.

Haymans was born in Gainesville, where he graduated from P.K. Yonge High School in 1970 and the University of Florida in 1974.

He is also a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1976) and Luther Rice Seminary (1983).

Haymans served as Youth Minister at Northwest Baptist Church of Gainesville from 1976-78 and Youth and Education Minister at Killarney Baptist Church of Winter Park from 1978-84.

Since 1984, Haymans has served as Executive Pastor at FBC Eustis.

He is survived by wife Linda S. Haymans of Eustis; daughter Lauren (Daniel) Norris of Eustis; son Jameson Todd (Hannah) Haymans of Winter Park; sister Linda (Ken) Williams of Worthington Springs; grandsons Brock and Colton Norris of Eustis; mother-in-law Barbara Sinquefield of Eustis; nephews Lance and Philip Williams; and numerous relatives and loved ones.

A celebration of his life was held at FBC Eustis on May 26 and a graveside service was held at Evergreen Cemetery in Gainesville on May 28.
