The following are among nearly 5,200 missionaries in the United States and Canada supported by the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions.

Mike & Ana Daily
Miami, Florida

The Miss Mike Daily is director of church and community ministries for the 280-church Miami Baptist Association, where he connects churches with needs in their communities. Doing so allows the Gospel to be shared, and in a multicultural city like Miami one person accepting Christ can have worldwide impact. Ana directs the Good News Care Center, a free medical clinic.

Pray for Mike as he helps churches develop new ministries. Pray for a church to be established from the work of the medical clinic.

Michael & Michelle Dean
Boston, Massachusetts

They thought they would serve overseas as they have a love for international missions, but Michael and Michelle Dean learned they didn’t need to venture far away. The world has come to them. Leaders from around the world find themselves in Boston on a short-term basis for work or study, and the Deans build relationships with these students and share Christ with them.

Pray for the Deans as they find creative ways to minister to and share Christ with students and other internationals. Pray for more volunteers to come forward to serve in the ministry.

John & Kim Piepmeier
Kiana, Alaska

John and Kim Piepmeier serve as Mission Service Corps missionaries in Kiana, Alaska, a remote village of about 400 people just north of the Arctic Circle. John serves as lay pastor of the Kiana Baptist Mission, while Kim is a partner in leading the ministries.

Pray that the Piepmeiers will be an encouragement and bold witness of Christ to the residents–especially the children, many of whom have been led to Christ through their ministries.

Stephanie & Ross Smith
Bloomington, Minnesota

Stephanie Smith is a certified athletic trainer and North American missionary working with the hockey community in Minnesota–a subculture largely unreached with the gospel. The Smiths also have started the Twin Cities Northern Lights, a team founded on Christian principles that acts as a bridge between area churches and the hockey community.

Pray for the Smiths as they share the gospel with players. Pray that the players will be drawn to Christ through the witness of the Smiths.

Gregg & Janine Farah
New York, New York

Even before the events of September 11, 2001, Greg and Janine Farah were committed to starting a church in New York City. Rather than change their plans, the terrorist attack actually gave momentum to them. They have started Mosaic Manhattan on the east side of Ground Zero.

Pray for the Farahs as they reach out to the community. Pray that residents will be drawn to the church and that many will find Christ while there.

Mark & Christine Hobafcovich
Suwanee, Georgia

Mark Hobafcovich until recently was a national church planting missionary who helped start churches among more than 100 European, Haitian, Brazilian and Middle Eastern people groups. Now he is a staff member of the North American Mission Board. He has a special understanding of those who come here from other countries because he’s one of them. He fled his native Romania at age 20 and became a refugee in Australia, where he accepted Christ.

Pray for Mark to locate, train, and mentor pastors for new ethnic churches. Pray that God will give churches a vision to start new congregations.

An Van & Lienhoa Pham
Duluth, Georgia

A refugee from Vietnam during the 1970s, An Van Pham is an Asian church planter missionary working with 11 language groups in Georgia. The Asian population in Georgia has tripled in the past 10 years, and he estimates that 90 percent do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Pham also leads an international camp for second-generation international youth.

Pray that the Phams will be an inspiration and encouragement to other Asians in sharing their faith. Pray that more Asians will respond to God’s call to pastoral ministry.

Debbie Wohler
Tahoe City, California

Debbie Wohler serves as a resort missionary in Lake Tahoe, Calif., "America’s Year Round Playground." The area hosts 12 million visitors each year. In the winter, Debbie ministers at six ski areas and in the summer at campgrounds. She also coordinates an after-school program for children at First Baptist Church of Tahoe City. She loves to see children learn about Christ, because she knows they’ll grow up strong in their faith.

Pray for an increase in the volunteers who serve alongside Debbie and for the residents of the area to see their greatest need is for Christ.
